It seems that all we ever get anymore is empty and vain promises from our politicians. To choose a candidate these days it's as if we have to determine who's lying the least. It's a shame when our decision for appointing an individual to the highest and most important office in the land, we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. With all of the advancement in society today, as far as our government is concerned, all I'm seeing is a political implosion.

Countdown Time...
The 57th United States presidential election is rapidly coming upon us. We're actually less than six weeks away from that crucial day. I wish the choice for the best candidate for the country was a lot more obvious. It seems we have to choose which ever candidate appeals to us the most or which ever one seems to have our best interest at heart. The "process" of choosing itself can be somewhat of a "conflict of interest"...a conflict of interest between our own personal interests and the interest of the country. I suppose we need to ask ourselves if our personal interests are in anyway aligned with the interest of our country as a whole. I have to ask myself daily if my reasoning for choosing a particular candidate are for "Gene's" interests' or am I really looking at how my choice would benefit the nation as a whole. If not, am I willing to sacrifice some of my interests so that our nation can be a better and stronger country collectively. Is there a way to honestly ask ourselves these type questions? Where do we draw the line? Is there a win-win compromise where everyone benefits? I wonder.

They've Done It Again....
Once again our beloved "public servants" have shown just how much concern they have for the American people. While our farmers and ranchers are experiencing one of the most severe droughts in our nations history and our nation's security is at significant risk, what does congress do? They go on vacation, of course. Why not, they've managed to rack up a whopping 17% approval rating. The $383 million dollar emergency relief bill for the farmers and a bill protecting our nations dams and power grids from cyber terrorism will simply need to wait until good ole boys and girls return from their well deserved five-week vacation. Has anyone else out there gotten a vacation from your job as a reward for a 17% performance rating? I'd love to hear about it.

Any Ideas???
Our nation has been on a steady decline politically for a number of decades now. My question is....can it get any worse? Under our present administration our federal debt has increased $6 trillion to over $16 trillion. I just learned what the number "trillion" was a little over a decade ago. Just to help you put these astronomical numbers into perspective; if you were to count back one trillion seconds ago, you would be counting until 29,700 B.C. In other words, if you were to count back 16 trillion seconds, you'd be counting back to over 500,000 years ago. Our politicians throw these numbers around like they're "No Big Deal" but what do you "think". The problem is....most of us don't. We just go along for the ride like the little piggie in the Geico
commercial. The only problem is, we're being driven right off the cliff. We haven't even begun to discuss our foreign policy, education, social security, etc. By the way, isn't an attack on another nation's embassy
"A Declaration of War"? Not sure...just asking???
Then we have an opposing candidate that just seems totally out of touch with at least half of the nation, well at least 47% that is. What are we gonna do folks? Of course we need to exercise our God given right to vote...but man...what choices!!! We need some bright ideas like never before so all of your suggestions are quite welcome. I look forward to hearing from you.
