It seems that all we ever get anymore is empty and vain promises from our politicians. To choose a candidate these days it's as if we have to determine who's lying the least. It's a shame when our decision for appointing an individual to the highest and most important office in the land, we have to choose between the lesser of two evils. With all of the advancement in society today, as far as our government is concerned, all I'm seeing is a political implosion.

Romney's Gaining
Since the first debate it seems that most of the polls are indicating that Romney has gained significant ground on Obama and may have perhaps tied the race. Wow...I never knew that the debate could have that much impact. I suppose I was under the impression that the majority of voters had already made a firm commitment to their candidate. I guess not. Well it seems that Obama better come out swingin in the next round or it might be "curtains" for him. Do you think he underestimated Romney in the first debate? Is it possible for him to redeem himself next week? What about Ryan vs Biden's Vice Presidential debate Thursday. Who do you suppose will take that? Do you think their debate will have much impact on the election? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I agree. You would think that voters would be making informed decisions by researching both sides and making their decision before the debate. The debate may have shed more light on things, but as an informed voter, we should have a well thought out standpoint for why we are voting for a certain candidate. If anything, I hope the debate made people realize they need to look into both sides more instead of blindly casting a vote.
ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head. Most people seem likely to vote with their heart rather than their head. In other words, most people I know are voting with their emotions or because "they like the guy" opposed to his record, how he's voted in the past or what does he actually stand for.
DeleteWell, I would think that the countless 'attack ads' that were thrown around were nothing more than flyers and the debates are the performance. Clearly the flyers were more decorated than performed. More bark than bite. In this case, Romney outperformed Obama and people can see the gap that was made. Expected? Probably, probably not.
ReplyDeleteIt seems that "mud slinging" is the norm in potilitics these days. I guess they feel if they can get us to hate the "other guy" more than them then they can edge him out.
