I'm sure like many of you, we're all glad that the elections are finally over. No more mud slinging or having to hear how much better one candidate can diss the other. I suppose we can take a moment to discuss why we vote and look at what a tremendous privilege it is to be a part of a "Free Country". Many countries throughout the world don't allow their citizens freedom of expression, refusing to allow them to express their creativity regardless how gifted their citizens might be. We don't have to look any further than our illustrious city of Las Vegas to see the gift of expressive freedom at it's best. Countless brilliant Americans and even others throughout the world have created the most elaborate edifices in the world here without limitation. Literally hundreds of millions of people come to see the most magnificent structures in the world. I figured I'd focus on the beauty and splendor of the Bellagio, my favorite. I always enjoy watching the "dancing waters" out front and since Thanksgiving is approaching, they have setup their conservatory and lobby with a Thanksgiving theme. Enjoy the slideshow.
Very nice slideshow. It was nice to see a more relaxing seen other than all this politics mumbo jumbo. It was all the talk at work when it wasn't needed. And of course people can get so opinionated! So good work taking the mind off!
ReplyDeleteThanks Daniel. I must be a glutton for punishment just for choosing politics as a topic. I never have been into em that much personally. One of those "brain fart" moments I guess.
ReplyDeleteI've heard it said that the way to tell if a politician is lying is...look to see if their mouth is moving!!!
Your photos are fabulous. On occasion, we go to the Bellagio so how to see how they have changed their conservatory and lobby for different seasons. The photos you took are nicely done. You did a good job. You captured a lot of the colors in the displays.
ReplyDeleteRegarding politics and work: I have found that it is best not to mix politics at work. In the work environments where I have worked off and on for the last few years, I have a significant different of opinion from many of my co-workers. I do not share my politics with most of the people I work with. I only talk with the one or two people I know who are in agreement with me. What I have found interesting is that you cannot tell a person’s politics by looking at them; I have had a few clients who surprised me when they expressed strong beliefs in “self-reliance, initiative, ambition, and traditional values”.
I wish I would have gone there recently to see it for myself! I love how the Bellagio changes their interior for every occasion. It's one of my favorite things that casinos do for not just the tourists who come and visit and happen to get the chance but for the people who actually live here. Something us locals get to experience every time they change something up.
ReplyDeleteYep. I would have to agree it is nice to finally move on with our lives now that the mudslinging is over.... Or is it? Will it ever be over? Will we ever be able to truly have our voices heard with our current government structure, the rich leading the country to this "Cliff" that everyone keeps talking about? Anyways, just my two cents. Your pictures are fantastic and I cannot wait to take my son, wife, and exchange student to take a look. :)
ReplyDeleteAs long as you have 2 parties with opposing viewpoints, the mudslinging will never truly be over. Quick for either party to condemn the other for their views. In the study of political history, one cannot help but notice how much the brilliant founding leaders struggled with one another to achieve a single compromise that would settle itself between the entire country. And as more time progresses between then and now, the bigger the gaps are appearing between opposing parties. Where is a Lincoln, Franklin, or Jefferson when you need them? ----- Though I've been in the Bellagio a couple times now, there is no shortage of surprises during each theme change for each holiday.
ReplyDeleteI greatly appreciate everyone's comments. Your comments are right on the money and I'm glad you enjoyed the slideshow. If you get a chance to checkout the Bellagio conservatory before they convert to the Christmas theme it would be well worth your while. Have a great Thanksgiving.
